DSAC v WDUAA v YORK AA
   Sunday 24rd July 2022.

For several years now, teams from York AA and WDUAA have competed 'Up North' and on WDUAA waters.

In 2022 a team of 10 from DSAC had been invited to take part.
DSAC accepted the challenge.
On Sunday 24th July, in a 3 way match organised by York AA and Jerry Bartlett (WDUAA), a contest was held on the Aire and Calder canal at Pollington, nr Goole.
Three Teams of 10 anglers, York AA, Worcester & District UAA and Droitwich Spa AC took part.
The lads travelled up to The Yorkway Motel which was HQ for the weekend.
On Saturday 23rd July, a friendly 'Knock Up' match was held on the New Junction Canal at Skyhouse Lock.
Several members travelled up and practised both venues for the Big Match on Sunday.
On Sunday 24th July, 30 anglers from York AA, Worcester and District UAA and our own Droitwich Spa AC, attacked the Aire and Calder Canal at Pollington.
Heavy rain, strong winds and offensive boat owners, failed to ruin the match, which was an absolute success.
Although new to this Annual Match, Droitwich Spa entered with an eager will to be the best.
DSAC members socialised , but always had their eye on the prize and entered the competition to WIN.
The match ended and and three teams eagerly awaited the final result.
Dave of York AA announced the final results, and stated it had been one of the closest matches in history.
With 21 points and third, York AA.
With 20 Points and second Worcester & District UAA.

'Champions' in their first year of entering this wonderful competition, DSAC with 19 points....

Well Done Droitwich Spa anglers , well done indeed.

Droitwich Spa Team Captain Mick Watson said "Well Done to all team members today in the 3 Team Challenge, which was held on the Aire & Calder Canal at Pollington.
I would like to say a Big Thank You to Jerry Bartlett (WDUAA) for organising the weekend, and thanks to York AA for their hard work in running 2 matches in 2 days. For me it was an honour to be with a great bunch of guys for the weekend. If club founder Dennis Spinner was with us, he would have been very proud of all of the lads. Well Done Droitwich Spa AC"
