Fishing correspondent Jerry Bartlett reports...

After their first two six-a-side contests, teams representing Cookley AS, Barley Mow AC and Droitwich Spa AC were tied on 137 points.
The final match staged at Porter's Mill on the Droitwich Canal, saw Cookley score 77 points, The Barley Mow 76 and Droitwich Spa 54.
Accordingly, in the closest possible finish, Cookley are the 2022 Six-A-Side Champions by a margin of only one point over second placed Barley Mow who were the 2021 winners.
First placed individual in the final contest was Dan Garnish of Cookley AS with a mixed 6.9.12 weigh in from permanent 12 which included chub.
Second placed Pete Chance of the Barley Mow on peg 21 caught 5.5.8 of bream, perch and eels.
Section winners were Reg Bastable (Barley Mow) with 3.11.4, Russ Hollands (Droitwich) who put 3.13.14 on the scales, and Bernie Partridge (Cookley) who weighed in 3.9.6.
Spectacular achievements in the 2022 Six-A-Side series included Cookley winning the first and third contests, John Swain being the first placed individual in the first two matches (and only missing the third due to a family commitment) and Bernie Partridge winning his section in all three matches.

Well Done and Thank You to all participants.
